A cover studio that still keeps comics on the table
Signal Framehub began as a Saturday table in Bourton where two collectors redrew licensed covers until the jokes were safer than the likenesses. The collector series — unofficial Deadpool parody covers issued as numbered NFT editions with companion sheets — is that table with a door sign.
Why parody, and why this costume
Deadpool covers already talk to the reader. That habit is useful when you need a page to confess it is unofficial. We lean on caption boxes, broken stitch lines, and fake newsstand furniture so a minted cover cannot wander into a listing as the real book.
We are not a publisher of interiors. We do not hold a Marvel licence. The work is homage and satire: original drawings that argue with layouts collectors already know. If a brief asks for a face that could pass at a stall, we send it back.
How we work
Briefs are read aloud. Homage sources are physical copies whenever possible. Pencils go out before colour so the gag is settled while changes are still cheap. Paper proofs happen in Bourton because red on a phone is a rumour.
Minting stays with the collector. We write metadata; we do not take wallets or run drops on a storefront. That keeps the studio in the business of covers rather than queues.
